Are you the insecure type?

Keeping the many-fangled monster ‘of insecurity’ at bay.
Are you the insecure type?
Situation 1: You are at your partner’s place, but instead of lavishing his attention on you, he spends time talking on the phone. You get uncomfortable.
Situation 2: You call up your boyfriend all excited and tell him about your weekend plans. Much to your dismay, you learn that he has already got prior office commitment.
Situation 3: It is 12 in the midnight.
1x1 polls
You call your beloved for your usual nightly chat. Your boyfriend answers only to tell you he is waiting for an important call. On the other hand, you know that he maintains a strict distinction between work and home. So, what are you given to think?
Situation 4: Your long time partner has left his laptop on as he makes a quick trip to the washroom. Are you tempted to snoop in and check his chat history?
Situation 5: The both of you enter a party together. You spent the rest of the time furtively eyeing every female with whom he has a longer-than five minute conversation.
If you have answered yes to most of the above questions, then you have a reason to worry. It is an acute sense of insecurity that’s plaguing you. And you endlessly battle thoughts of a plausible ‘other woman’, leaving you on the edge.
Here are a few quick tips to keep the many-fangled monster ‘insecurity’ at bay.

Low self-confidence
If your self-esteem levels are the suspect, then you probably need to rediscover yourself. Remind yourself why your boyfriend fell in love with you. If you are still having difficulty reliving those idyllic memories, you can half-jestingly ask him to narrate some old instance which made you share a good laugh. You will soon realise how valuable you are to him.
Distract yourself
When you experience vague, drive-you-crazy thoughts about his cheating on you, just take a deep breath. Instead of nagging him with random questions, focus on a hobby or call up an old school friend you have been meaning to catch up for a long time. Your boyfriend will surely appreciate this gesture, and there shall be fewer arguments in your relationship.
Flirt a little
Next time your partner and you go clubbing, turn on the heat. Flirt with that cute guy trying to catch your attention. You might gain a fresh perspective when you see your partner sulk.
Do a reality check
The best way is to talk it out. If certain things about him are bothering you, tell him so. Maybe you will be able to sort out your differences better, instead of losing sleep and succumbing to baseless thoughts.
